Sun. 31 2:48pm Well not really, but his comedy show is playing on the TV here on the bus. Looking forward to going home but I hear it’s like 20 or so degrees in DC right now? Ugh! Grrreat, just what I want haha. - Michael

This has been a truly magical trip and I once again thank Andy Shallal for being my spiritual Godfather! I came here to get Zora’s blessing as I move forward with my Muse vision and today, January 31st—my wonderful mother’s birthday—I know that I have it. The individuals who made this trip together are all AMAZING and I am blessed to have made their acquaintance....

Last Day in Eatonville
Sun. 31 9:57am Just woke up, and not feeling too well. I stayed in and skipped the Zora Festival Gala/Award Ceremony while everyone else got fancy-shmancy in dresses and suits and went. I opted for a night of watching the History Channel (Modern Marvels: Egg was the last thing I remember watching before passing out), working on the laptop, and eating yet another dinner from Applebee’s,...

Zora! Festival—side trip to Winter Park (near...
At the end of Saturday’s humanities presentations, we connected with our friend and Zora! Festival national planner Richard Long (worthy of another loooong post!), who shanghaied us off to Winter Parkto visit the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. On the other side of Maitland from Eatonville, Winter Park is a resort town that has its own railway station (where robber barons used...

AppleDONE and "The Light"
Sat. 30 1:03am Wrapped up a good night at Applebees, which is literally steps away from the hotel. The entire group (minus Ericka and her little one Coltrane) sat together in a corner booth like one big family, and talked and laughed as we munched on three orders of what looked like Appetizer Samplers. At one point, the overhead lighting above us, which was dim, shot brightly like a new bulb...

Applebees @ 11pm!
Fri. 29 11:08pm We just got back to the hotel and was greeted by Andy, “We have a big table at Applebees if anyone wants to join us for some drinks and food.” And um, what do we all do? Follow the man to Applebees! LOL. Ok, well I promised Alisha that I wouldn’t take too long in my room, and join her in walking over to the restaurant. Stay tune for some pics from the play,...
